The Award of “Top Innovator in the Petrochemical Industry” won by Kharg Petrochemical at the 4th Petrofan Conference
The Research and Innovation Unit of Kharg Petrochemical Company received the “Top Innovator in Iran’s Petrochemical Industry” award at the closing ceremony of the 4th Petrofan Conference. This success symbolizes Kharg Petrochemical’s creative and sustainable approach toward developing technology and environmental projects.
The closing ceremony of the 4th Petrofan Conference was held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at the International Conference Center of the Research Institute of Petroleum Industry. During the ceremony, the Research and Innovation Unit of Kharg Petrochemical was honored with the “Top Innovator in the Country’s Petrochemical Industry” award.
The award was presented in recognition of the unit’s creative ideas, the design and implementation of innovative projects, and notable actions in planning and advancing development and environmental projects. Among the outstanding achievements was an innovative solution was presented by Mehdi Haghi to prevent the waste of CO₂ gas and convert it into production capacity, which drew special attention from the Jury.
This achievement was made possible with the support of the company’s CEO, Dr. Komeil Pourziaei, and his consistent emphasis on the need to strengthen research and innovation within Kharg Petrochemical’s operational structure.
The Petrofan Conference, as one of the important events in the country’s petrochemical industry, focuses on technology development and deepening innovation. Key parts of the event include using the capacity of knowledge-based companies and announcing the results of innovation’s evaluations for petrochemical companies. Each year the “Petrochemical Industry Innovation Award” is also given to create synergy among the industry’s specialists and practitioners and to encourage leading companies in the field of technology.
